Creating an idea is one thing, but bringing it fully realized is wholly another. Even as a team of 5, it can often feel like a lot to manage.
Ebbs and flows
For each of us, Some Untitled Collective is a passion project that coexists with our actual full-time gigs, other hobbies, family obligations, and life itself. There will be weeks where our group chat is silent, followed by periods of endless brainstorming, feedback, and updates. The breaks are necessary, though, because often it’s the time away that brings in new ideas.
Giving grace to the process
We aren’t a full-time game publisher, but damn do we love this thing we are creating. As a collective, we each have strengths in different areas. Following Unpub, there wasn’t much we could do until Jacob could sit down and balance the game. It was then up to Jessee to update the rulebook and box while Daniel cranked out new illustrations, with Kelly persistently nudging us all along to ensure we got to print in time for Chris to playtest.
We take turns passing the ball, being the roadblock, and being the one to vocalize the disruptive idea we’ve all been thinking but afraid to say aloud
The reality is, we couldn’t do it alone, and why would we want to?!
